How to spend $100,000 in a day

$100 Bill

October 29, 2012

It’s Halloween week, so let’s come up with a “trick” that can shift your mindset about money.

I’ve heard this trick called different things – the Feng Shui money wallet and the $100 bill trick, among others.

It’s very simple. Go to the bank and get at least one $100 bill. The key is to take out whatever amount makes you feel “wealthy”. For me, I like to have enough that I could buy almost anything I’d see around town – so that’s $300-$400 (I live in an upscale town).

Put the money in your purse or wallet- but don’t spend it. Instead, mentally spend it all day long with your thoughts – “I could buy that.”

It’s very important to me that every now and then I actuallfranklin fridayy do spend some of my “Franklins”, so that I never get to feeling that the money is forbidden to spend. But I do that rarely, so that it stays there for me, so that I “could” buy something with it. When I do spend it, I’m always careful to replace it within a day or two.

If you mentally spend your 1,000 times in a day, you’ve mentally spent $100,000. Supposedly, our brains cannot tell the difference between what we actually do and what we envision.

By being able to spend freely, you make your relationship with money an easy one. Money is there for you!

Some people like to use a special Feng Shui money wallet just for this special cash – it’s up to you. The money wallet feels special and is a way to “pamper” your money. But however you store it, and whether you choose to carry $100 or $1,000 (or $20 if that’s where you are right now), give yourself the freedom to spend your money on whatever you’d like.

I’d love to hear your stories of how you use your money wallet and what it’s done for you.

I’ve never tried this, but I will try this in the near future. Apart from the fact that you can trick your own brain this way – it also sounds fun! Window-shopping for 1000x the money you carry.
